Nice! I already felt like my life was complete after Sakura Taisen on the Saturn received its fan translation, and now this. Sucks that there's no indication of when it'll drop, but still, what a time to be alive!

That's rad and someday I'll enjoy it.

I really wish someone would tackle the PS1 or Saturn version of 1, though. I was told to avoid the SFC fan translation because it wasn't particularly well edited and that the SFC version sucks.

Pretty sure the same translator/editor is doing this game, so you might as well grin and bear your issues one way or the other with the translation.

That's great to hear, this series has been largely inaccessible for English speakers for ages so it's always nice seeing dedicated fans helping to make the games more accessible.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the editing. They also provided a way to enhance the music, and patched the scrolling background to be 60fps. At this point I'm not sure what benefit the CD versions would offer. I assume they have voice acting, but I'd just skip that anyway.

The voice acting is a huge part of the experience, to me. But I can see how other folks wouldn't care about that since it's in Japanese anyways.

I'm pretty sure caring about voice acting in a VN is the normal opinion to have.

that's wonderful. I had a nice time with the snes version despite its limitations, and I know this is generally agreed to be the peak of the series. so many great translation projects happening right now, between this, boku 2, germs, linda cubed...what a time to be alive

I played a couple of hours of the SNES version recently and it was very underwhelming. Is the PS1 version really better? I mean gameplay wise, of course. If so, how?

I never knew dating sims were so well received. Always skipped any sort of them when genre browsing. Am I missing out?

Very nice. My first real introduction was the 3rd one with the new engine.

I guess Konami doesn't care about games anymore, but I'm surprised they haven't just done a slapdash translation of this and the other VNs and released them on Steam or something.

I spoke with somebody from Konami literally less than a week ago and he assured me they do care about their old IPs, the odds of a new game coming in an old franchise are higher than folks think, and that he's super excited that Konami in general is "back".

But none of this matters for Tokimemo anyway, the most recent entry in this franchise was October 2021 on Switch.
